The Gospel of John | Week 15

Feb 15, 2026    Troy Hartman

In John 11, we come to one of the most powerful and pivotal moments in all of Scripture — the raising of Lazarus.

This is the 7th and climactic miracle recorded in the Gospel of John. It’s the turning point. From this moment forward, the road leads straight to the cross.

When Jesus stands outside the tomb of Lazarus, we see both the deep LOVE of Christ and the unstoppable POWER of Christ. He weeps with those who grieve. He enters into human pain. And then He does what no one else can do — He calls life out of death.

“I am the resurrection and the life.”

This wasn’t just a promise for someday.

It was a declaration for right now.

Because Jesus walked out of His grave, you can walk out of yours.

If you’re in the middle of confusion…

If you’re in the middle of grief…

If something in your life feels four days dead…

This message is for you.

In this teaching, we explore:

- Why Jesus sometimes doesn’t move on our timeline

- How faith grows in the middle of pain

- What it means that Jesus is both fully God and fully human

- How resurrection is not only a future hope — but a present reality

- Practical steps for bringing what feels dead back to life

- The raising of Lazarus wasn’t just a miracle — it was a preview of Easter.

- It revealed that the only way to bring Lazarus out of the grave… was for Jesus to go into His.

Do you believe this?
