The Gospel of John | Week 12 | John 8:12–59

In John 8, Jesus draws a clear line between two ways of living—and calls us to decide how we will respond to Him.

This message walks through the powerful contrasts found in John 8: grace and law, light and darkness, life and death, freedom and bondage, honor and dishonor. As tension rises between Jesus and the religious leaders, Jesus makes some of His boldest claims yet—including declaring, “I am the light of the world” and “Before Abraham was born, I AM.”

In this sermon, we’ll see:

Why grace always comes before transformation

What it truly means to follow Jesus as the Light of Life

Why believing in Jesus is a matter of life and death

How abiding in His Word leads to true freedom

Four powerful results of following Jesus:

Greater Confidence, Closeness, Clarity, and Commitment

John 8 begins with stones in the hands of religious leaders ready to condemn—and ends the same way. The question is the same for us today:

Will we throw stones at Jesus, or will we throw ourselves at His feet?

If you’re wrestling with who Jesus really is—or what it means to follow Him one step at a time—this message is for you.
