What a Friend We Have in Jesus | John 8:2–11

In this message from John 8:2–11, we encounter one of the most powerful and grace-filled moments in the life of Jesus—the story of the woman caught in adultery. Surrounded by religious leaders ready to condemn, she meets a Savior who responds with truth, mercy, and transforming grace.

As the Pharisees attempt to trap Jesus with the Law of Moses, Jesus reveals something deeper: the heart of God toward sinners. With the words, “Neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin,” Jesus shows us the beautiful balance of grace and truth—holiness without hypocrisy, compassion without compromise.

In this sermon, we explore:

What it truly means that Jesus is a friend of sinners

Why condemnation is not the cure for sin

How Jesus fulfills the Law by taking our condemnation upon Himself

Three life-changing truths we all need to hear:

You are not alone

You are not condemned

You are responsible to walk in new life

This message is for anyone wrestling with guilt, shame, or the pressure to “clean themselves up” before coming to God. The gospel reminds us: forgiveness comes first, and transformation follows.
