SERVE DAY 2026

Stay Tuned for dates for the Spring Mini Serve Day + Summer Serve Day

Join us for one of the best days of the summer! We love uniting as a church family to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community through meaningful, hands-on service.

This is a perfect opportunity for individuals, families, and groups to serve together and live out our mission in a tangible way. Trust us—you won’t want to miss it!

LOCAL OPPORTUNITIES

Give Blood

Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.

Volunteer at Center of Hope Ministry

The Center of Hope Ministry is committed to meeting the needs of our neighbors in the homeless community with empathy, kindness, and compassion. By providing a safe, warm place to escape the harsh winter nights we are able to renew the hearts, minds, and souls of our neighbors giving them hope and one more day.

Common Table Nightly Meals

Common Table meals are served every night of the week, 365 days a year at the Lincoln Education Center, 901 Poyntz.  Meals are served from 6-7pm.

Volunteers (cook's helpers, bussers, dishwashers, servers, and host) are needed each night from 5:15pm - 7:30pm. Head cooks are needed on the weekends and holidays.

Helping International Students (HIS)

Helping International Students (HIS) is a community organization in Manhattan, Kansas that is sponsored by more than 25 local churches and K-State campus ministries. HIS serves over 2,500 international students from 100+ nations at Kansas State University. If you are local to MHK, we invite you to join us in welcoming international students to our community. There are a number of ways you can contribute. You can volunteer to be a HIS Friend, help with numerous events, or volunteer in our office. Please e-mail info@hismanhattan.org if you are interested in joining our team!

Volunteer at Be Able

Be Able exists to engage with those in adversity by creating connections, cultivating skills, and opening doors of opportunity.

Be Able serves neighbors in Manhattan who perhaps don’t fit in, are reluctant to move forward, or don’t know-how. They have ample experiences with the fantastic social service organizations of the Manhattan area and have taken note of the growing need to serve those in the gaps. Operating from a stance of loving your neighbor as yourself, they serve local neighbors with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Thanksgiving Community Meal - 2025

Common Table and Flint Hills Breadbasket are partnering again this year to offer a free Community Thanksgiving Meal on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 27.
The Community Thanksgiving Meal would not be possible without the help of volunteers like you! This year, we are planning to serve 400 of our neighbors. Volunteers under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
