In this Christmas message, we look at the familiar story of the Wise Men in Matthew 2:1–12 and the seemingly strange gifts they brought to baby Jesus—gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

These gifts weren’t random or symbolic by accident. They pointed to who Jesus truly is:

Gold revealed Jesus as the Eternal King

Frankincense pointed to Jesus as our Eternal Priest

Myrrh foreshadowed Jesus as the Eternal Sacrifice

The message reminds us that Christmas isn’t just about what was given to Jesus—but how we respond to Jesus. Like the Wise Men, our response is meant to be one of joy, worship, and surrender.

This service also includes a powerful invitation to respond to Jesus personally—receiving forgiveness for the past, peace for the present, and hope for the future—and a moving candlelight moment declaring that even the smallest light can overcome the deepest darkness
